Sometimes labels reject songs they have already accepted and had you sign a fancy contract for. So we... er, YOU make another one they aren't going to like. Then another one.

They were all called "B -", like you know, when life gives you lemons, steal it's blood and make sure to remind it that it is nothing but a meaningless series of electro-chemical and magnetic forces thats somehow stumbled into imbuing a consciousness that uses pattern recognition for survival and dominance.

But it also led to story telling, and a computation machine in its head that desperately wants/needs to find the pattern and meaning in that consciousness because it figured out it was gonna die. Oh no, now it is starting to get sad. Time to binge another dozen episodes of Really-A-Murder Food-Chef's Nostalgiia 80s Dark Anthology Barely "Science" Stand-up Special Hour on Netflix.

OR they could give more episodes of the Joel McHale Show with Joel McHale to Joel McHale. I would also watch it if it was Aisha Tyler. That kind of sarcastic need to be humurously dismissive of the state of human Bread & Circuses makes you forget that no matter what you do, you will always still be a party to it.
